Old Home Week
This is an interesting comment from the New York Times on Scorsese winning an Oscar, and having it presented to him by Coppola, Lucas and Spielberg:
"It was less poignant than telling that these four men, Mr. Scorsese included, were onstage together, having become what they once assailed. They are the establishment, and they are not ready to cede the field to a moshed-up world of indies and global filmmakers."
Maybe it's an obvious comment, but it is still a good one. These guys were the opposite of established Hollywood in the 1970s, which was comprised of a nostalgic studio mentality. I guess it makes sense for them to now represent the new nostalgia and thus become the establishment themselves.
