Peter MacKay Never Listened To The Beatles

All this nonsense with the Western official position that there can be no ceasefire in the Mid-East unless it can be a lasting ceasefire is total shite. It is a completely empty statement. When asked in Parliament why he isn't demanding an immediate ceasefire, Peter MacKay said, "It's not enough to just say the words ... there has to be a plan."

Um, not according to The Beatles:
"Say the word and you'll be free,
say the word and be like me,
say the word I'm thinking of,
have you heard the word is Love?"
The Beatles make no reference to having a plan whatsoever.

While I may be being a little glib about this, my point carries a lot more weight. In Buddhism there is a concept of the Primal Vow of Amida (or Amitabha). No matter what you have or have not done, by simply speaking the name of Amida you arrive in the Pure Land, achieving enlightenment (Leeming, World of Myth, pp. 69-72). It means that by affirming something, you have taken an important step towards achieving it. Just say the word, Petey...
